Hey folks - I'm still in amp buying mode. I finally drove down to a couple of music stores and tried a few amps. They were OK but neither store had the ones I was really interested in.
Online there seems to be every model of every brand somewhere. I'm just kinda nervous about throwing down $400 - $500 for something I have never tried.
What would you do?

I bought my first from a local shop. And my second. All the rest were eBay. The Princeton reverb was a bit overpriced probably, but then again, it won't really depreciate unless I wreck it. I dunno...just depends what you want. Get curious enough, you'll stick your neck out. Sometimes you'll lose. You can take precautions to avoid losing too much, maximise your chances of winning. It will always be a gamble though, when you buy b4 you try . Some like the thrill. I'd have no problem buying online, but I'd do research...usually...

I guess I should have been more specific. When I say buy online I meant buy from one of the big retailers - MusiciansFreind, GuitarCenter, etc.
I'm definately not ready to buy from a personal sale - no offense to you guys.
