Try Gary Lehmann, Suzuki repair rep.

gnarlyheman@gmail.com

Maybe your Manji is still under warranty!

Right, free repairs under the one year warranty.
After that, I do them at home. Suzuki Japan was nice enough to give me the HRT-10 portable repair kit, it works really well!

This Manji is not under warranty. I bought it about three years ago from Ronnie Shellist when he was a Suzuki rep.

Andrew Zajac!
I suppose you aughta send a couple other harps that need a little TLC along with the Manji to make the postage a little more reasonable.

I sent the harp off to Gary Lehmann (Gnarly) several days ago. I'll report back later.

This George Miklas Frank mentions looks like a brilliant dude. I went to his site. Whoever made the site put blue writing on a blue background so a lot of things are very hard to read.

he does Melodicas and Polyphonias too.

I got the Manji back from Gary Lehmann. The repair is perfect and the harp overall plays better than it did new. Excellent work. Thanks Gnarly!

You are welcome Rick.
If draw 5 breaks again, it will be easier to replace, as the donor reed is held on with a screw.
Hey, how about pix of that?
Thank you for your support.

Gary, so I guess that's laser etching on 2&3 with your scratching/tuning added to 3? Do you back that screw with a nut on the other side or thread the reed plate?

Rick, thanks!
I may have sharpened 4 draw, I probably did something to some of the other reeds, but this was a good harp (Except for the broken reed).
One of the reasons reeds get broken is that the harps get played. So by replacing only the broken reed, you get the same great harp back; the one that you loved to play enough to break a reed LOL

It is a good harp! I'll be playing it again on stage tomorrow night at Ziggies in Denver.

This was harp fixin' week. I gave three Hohner harps (two Xovers and a Spec20) to Scott Woerner for repair. Will pick up tomorrow.
