Just a quick note on the outcome of the discussion of the Beginner's Thread. The idea came up for beginners/learners/novices, if they wish, to start their threads with 'BGT' to flag that this is a topic more of interest to other beginners. And to indicate to the old-hands that the questions and opinions might be repetitive or elementary, so to treat accordingly.

There are no restrictions on who can post replies.

Using 'BGT' means you can search for it.

If you want to read the full discussion, for reference it is here:

What a great idea!

Personally I don't mind answering beginner questions at all. Beginners deserve answers from people who have "been there, done that" to help them avoid developing bad habits, and learn what works!

Great idea!

Could you tell me what OT means?? Off Topic??

Are there any other prefixes we should be aware of?

Thanks
Paul

Yes, OT=Off Topic, these are the only ones I'm aware of.

That should work well. :)

Bublnsqueak, I can't think of any other prefixes. WTF or OMG are probably already peppered throughout the posts, and of course 'Topic Locked', but we don't use that one very often anymore!
