Is this normal?

I had a gig on friday. It was a good one - I'm talking people-cheering-after-solos good. I'm an average player but I managed to play from the heart.

Seriously put my all into it, and the adrenaline was pumping.

Afterwards I felt AWFUL! I chatted with audience members and stuff, and was nice to people, but apart from that I was fit for nothing.

I guess it's probably because I'm not used to performing? Felt exhausted. Haven't touched a harp since then and thought about quitting for a while!

This story might help...

Robert Plant would have over a thousand woman to choose from after he'd perform...People wanted to know how he would choose the ones he wanted to roll with. He said it was easy, he'd tell 3 or 4 of the them to go fu8% off and the rest to come with him...Not only was he a great musician, but a wonderful mathematician too :)

There have been a lot of lost Saturdays or Sundays for me post gig. It's precisely because I have put out every ounce, many times not even realizing how spent I was until the next day. I would be so fired up when I got home, sometimes I'd be up until dawn writing lyrics or just not ready to sleep. Those days- and I sometimes still have them- about all I want to do is eat and sleep and do that some more. Still, I find a way to function. There is also part of my mind that holds on to the good stuff, the appreciative audience, the approval of my band mates, the sheer joy of doing right on stage. That's the payoff man.
