Looking to lighten the p.a. load. Checking out the powered speakers. Of course they all have great reviews and then the same speakers have some sh*t reviews. We do mic our amps and maybe a little kick and snare. Mainly looking at EV, Yamaha, JBL and QSC.
Would like to hear of anyone's experience using these.

Hi Paul,
went to an open mic last week and the host added on a BOSE vertical stack with base.
They are not cheap but my god the sound was awesome..£600-1000 uk
Well worth it, long term..and it is portable

Stay way from JBL EONs. My band has had nothing but trouble with them. They're very cheaply made and suffer from grounding issues. Yamaha's would be my recommendation. We have a pair of 1100W ones that have served us in good stead for nearly three years now.

Thanks guys for the input. Hawkeye, are your Yamahas 12's or 15's and what all do you run through them?

They're 15's. We pretty much run EVERYTHING through them. We now use the EON's for floor monitors. The bassier stuff like the kick drum and the bass guitar we send down to a pair of Seismic Audio 18" powered subs.
