Here's my version of Bye Bye Bird by Sonny Boy Williamson II. It came out pretty well IMO except for at about 0:22 somebody in the next room hit a hammer on something lol. Let me know what you guys think!!

@ hoody1942 & slaphappy Thanks Guys!!!
@sonny3 I'm playing a Hohner Thunderbird in the key of Low C. I used to play this tune on a Hohner 364 low C and that what Sonny Boy used (It was called "The Echo Vamper" back then but is the same harp). I find the T-Bird much easier and more comfortable to play than a 364. It's easier to get a FAT tone on the 364s b/c of the big cover w/ no side vents, but they are not as loud and airtight as the T-birds. ---------- C. Hey Adam ("The Amazing Bearded Technician") thanks for posting this. It gives me a bit of inspiration to see what I can wring out of the low end of that 365 you went thru for me at the Roadshow in Lansing. One thing I wont be doing with that big harp is the hands free bit you do at the end, ha-ha.

Nice! First time I've heard you play. I have an Echo Vamper I use for this tune. It is a beast because the cover plates are deep and squareish. is that a word? I do like the tone of the bell metal brass reeds but as always, it's the player who notices little differences. ---------- i still have a little Hohner stock for reed replacement in three common keys. when these are gone i'm out of the biz. click MP for my e-mail address and more info.

@cyclodan Thanks! It was nice to meet you and chat a bit in Lansing at The Hohner Roadshow. I hope that 365 is still doing well. This tune can be played on that as well. Although you're right about the "harp-in-mouth" thing, It's tough on those big harps. But that how Sonny Boy did it lol
@ MP Thanks! and yes, I'd say "squareish" is a word haha And those big covers are the reason I said it's easier to have a FAT tone on that VS the T-Bird, But I love the T-birds. There are no better OOTB Low harps anywhere.

Yes Adam. T-Birds are fine harps. Had the pleasure of fixing one. Yes, someone actually blew out one of those huge reeds! Couldn't believe it.
I'm not big on low harps but they can be fun. ---------- i still have a little Hohner stock for reed replacement in three common keys. when these are gone i'm out of the biz. click MP for my e-mail address and more info.
