If you could only choose one of these to play through, which?
Epiphone Valve Junior
or
Blackheart Little Giant
assuming both are stock.
I'm not really sure what the BIG differences are, but maybe someone who knows can enlighten me.
In my area right now, either one could be had cheaply (the Epi is available to me for STUPID cheap).
Not really for gigging; maybe for jams. Early next year I'm pulling the trigger on a Mission amp ;-)
Thanks!

If you really know getting a Mission is what you're doing to do and it is a good fit for your situation, save the money and buy a mic or cables...or how about some more harps?! ---------- Mantra Customized Harmonicas My Website

Good point. I've actually got a vintage SS Univox amp that's not half-bad for harp. I've used it at a jam.
It's just this G.A.S. thing. I like tubes. A lot. :)
Think I'll go lie in wait on Craigslist and eBay for a bit and see what mics I can snag cheap.
Thanks, HarpNinja... some perspective was what I needed.

First off, are these heads or combos?
The EVJ is more moddable for harp than the LG is. Randy Landry has harp specific procedures for it. The only mod kits I know of for the LG are by BitMo, and they weren't developed with harp in mind.
I've played both the EVJ and the LG. Stock, the LG is probably a little more versatile because of its 3-band EQ, but the EVJ combo's 8" speaker is great for harp. If it were me, I'd go with the VJ. You already said you can land it for cheap and the Lone Wolf mods are simple and inexpensive as well. ----------

I'd take the advice given by Mike and invest in a good mic, cables, a delay or some harps.

my modded epi vj is among my favourite things. Through a 8" twin cab, it's got a sound I'm very pleased with. I'd be happy to record with it. Stock, i am not so keen. I wouldn't really bother having one to use as a harp amp if I was thinking to leave it stock. If you are interested in electronics though, they are pretty cool units to play with because they are cheap, common, relatively simple and modern, and there is a lot of info available to inspire and assist.
