By March we'll have the itch to get out of here for a few days. Jo is looking at different rentals we could do for 2 or 3 nights, not necessarily a weekend. I'm wondering who knows the spots we might sit in or hit a jam around town and what nights are good for that? We're about an 8 hour drive away depending on how we go from Little Rock. The times we headed to Teddy's near Baton Rouge were pretty much straight south into Louisiana, Mississippi, and back into Louisiana. Long drive! I think we're looking to do interstate this time.
Any suggestions appreciated and we are really looking forward to a trip! ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene

jbone. Here are some of the Bigger events in New Orleans next march:
4 – Mardi Gras Day 7-8 – Buku Music and Art Project 8 – Louisiana Oyster Jubilee 16 – Mardi Gras Indians Super Sunday 14-17 – St. Patrick’s Day Weekend 19-23 – Tennessee Williams Literary Festival 22-23 – Congo Square New Worlds Rhythm Festival 22-30 – New Orleans Spring Fiesta 28-29 – Hogs for the Cause
There are Jam Sessions all over, but on Monday, there are three centered around Frenchman street, one of which is Smoky Greenwell's Jam at BMC, and one of my favorites, The super jam at Maison, which has a ton of horn players and a lot of New Orleans music is player.
There is a good jam on Wednesday at the Recovery Room, which is probably the oldest Jam at New Orleans, which is run by Oscar and the Blues Cats, a harmonica based band, which is very harp friendly. We had 4 harp players there last night. We have our monthly Harmonica Club meeting there on the 4th Wednesday of each month.
See you here. ----------

Hi Joe. Yes, let me know when you are coming. I don't always go down to Frenchman on Mondays, unless someone is coming to town, or I want the Awesome Mexican food at Cafe Negril. I normally go to the Wednesday Jam, though, because it is like a home away from home for me.
