Edit:- Typo on Title, should read 'Kaplan'
Here is one of Dan's new songs entitled 'The Prince'just posted on Youtube.
He is working up 9 songs with the intention of recording them at a later date.
In his own words: 'In late May of 2013, early one Sunday morning, I recorded nine songs under the Pedestrian bridge in Austin. They were intended to be just quick sketches. I wanted recordings so that I could work on them later - perhaps record them again with other instruments. It might be a while before I can work on these pieces more, so I decided to post some of them as is. All of the pieces have background - noise some much more than others - people talking, walking, biking, birds, heavy trucks etc. Here are some of them, in no particular order.'
This one is entitled 'The Prince' and it sounds great and innovative. I dig like the atmosphere of the people passing by as he performs them.
Here is a LINK to his youtube channel where you can listen to his new songs and some of his older recordings.

Incredible. He really channels deep emotion through his playing which I can feel.

Amazing CD. This is true modern blues harmonica if you're listening. Like a mix of erik satie and sonny boy williamson. Deeply original. ---------- Andrew Larson, R.N.

I couldn't agree more Michael. I think Dan has a truly original voice on the harp. The CD is great and the new material he is working on and uploaded onto his youtube channel is fresh and different again and is a captivating listen despite the outside recording. ----------

Just was able to listen to the new tracks now. Excellent excellent stuff. I'll have to e-mail Dan and tell him so. I especially love West River Blues.

He's uniquely brilliant. Makes me even more inclined toward exploring my own solo stylings, and appreciating the "simpler can be better" school of music when it's in the right hands. His "hands" are inspiring.

Loved the playing! and the background noises really added atmosphere. Wow!
Hmmm...when I play in the park the only birds that will jam with me are crows and magpies. Had 5 crows listening intently the other day and making occasional contributions...but maybe that belongs in the "what level are you?" string....
