STME58, I knew there was a band joke in there somewhere, but I had it stuck in my head backwards.

Buz, yeah, the conformity angle struck me too.

Iceman, it's interesting. I vaguely recall seeing something on early timekeeping on ships. I imagine this very phenomena may have played a role in it, with the waves throwing off the pendulum...
