The 7-100 is likely what you're thinking of. About the size of a shoebox, 5" speaker, one knob for on-off and volume. smart tone for a little amp but i never found a mic that would not feed back in one. No doubt someone o0ut there has, I was limited at the time in what I could afford to try. I would recommend a plug-in power source unless you have access to a lot of AA batteries. Later on I bought sight unheard a new Pig G40V and had nothing but feedback from it. Sold at a loss. Others may have better experiences but I seldom see the Pigs mentioned. http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene

I've got a 7-100, have played with a few mics with it. One of Gregg's Wood bullet mics, an SM57 and one of those small in hand mics that was posted the other day. For a little amp is has a nice sound. Although it does feedback quite easily.
Also, once you get the volume up past 12 o'clock is it doesn't really get much louder.
Great for messing around at home as breaks up at low volumes but not a viable amp for playing out really.
Can't comment on any other models.

You might also consider the suitcase amps from Luna Guitars. They have two versions, the only difference of which that I can tell is their battery types. The ukulele amp uses a 9V, and the guitar version uses six AA's. But they both have an advantage over the 7-100 in that they both have a tone control.

I've never tried the Piggy. But the Roland MicroCube is great sounding little busking amp, and has a lot of flexibility and control. I don't own one, but have borrowed them on several occasions for playing in the streets of Paris. Highly recommended.

I have a pignose. Don't use it much now because its developed a slight problem and I haven't bothered to track it down. But I did use it a few times to play outdoors. It was ok but limited by that 5.5" speaker I think. If you like the sound though, you can run a line out and use it like an effect pedal I guess. I think some stadium guitarist used to use one that way. Can't quite recall. Just don't turn it up too far. All you get then is distortion. A good feature is the mounting points for a strap so you can sling it over your shoulder. These days I think the Roland probably has the ground covered. Vox also do a good job in that niche. ----------
