I got this harp last week... Yes, it's a high key (F) but I realy have problem with full bends! Especially with 2 draw full step and 3 hole draw (sometimes I cant hit 4 draw half step very clean).
I have marine band, blues harp, SP20... And I can bend very easy every hole (I havent problems with bending low harps, I play with my marine band in G very easy).
Does anyone have same problem with Pro harp? Is there any modification for fixing that problem...?

I'm not sure Rarko. Do you have other F harps?

It is pretty easy to fix. My bet is that the blow side reeds are gapped a little higher than usual or for your preference. Take a look at this video and use a toothpick to lower the 2 & 3 blow reeds just a bit and see if that doesn't help.

I love my SP20 F harp. Not wanting to hijack your thread Rarko but was wondering if you had any trouble with the 6 overblow? I can get it 50% of the time but think it needs a bit more adjustment. Ideas anyone please? Are high harps normally more difficult to overblow?

tooka,

reed length has a bit to do w/ obs. for instance, 4-6 on a C harp are easier than 4-6 on an A. the 4 and 5 on the A need more tweaking but the 6 is great. now on an F, the 4 should OB better than the 5 and 6.

harps are wierd.

@MP Thanks for that. Yeah the 4 and 5 are OK. The 6 is nearly there. You are right. Harps are weird.

@GMaj7
would you say that you would not expect Steels and Silvers to have this hole 2 and hole 3 hassle?

Adam G. has done a video on the hole 2 issue, and i get that, but with my MB in C, in the cool weather i can get a really nice 2 draw sound, still difficult to bend, in the hotter more humid weather the hole seems to close up somehow and is a general pain

@Joe,
I think any harp of any brand is susceptible to this issue.
I think it is more to do with the setting of the gap then the brand.
Sometimes they just come that way but the fix should be an easy one.

As far as the hot wx issue, my bet is the gap is set too low there, too.
Moisture from the air, your breath, and condensation on the plates will clog up the slots. Open that 2 draw up a little and I bet the problem goes away.
