Hey guys! I think I have correctly embedded the video this time. Anyway, this is just another video that we had recorded a while back and I thought I would throw it up on them interwebs and see what my fellow harp players thought of it. So please let me know what you think regardless of status as being good, bad, or ugly. And if you dig it you can head on over to www.facebook.com/randyanddaniel and "like" us. Or not, no big. Catch you later!

A very good take on it! I believe (and I could be wrong) that this is the first DMB song posted on this forum. Popper would most definitely be proud dude. You certainly do it justice.

Ain't a face booker, but that's a "like" for me...My feed back would be...call yourselves - the RandyDanielsBand, then when the groupies ask which one of you is Randy... you can take turns being him :)

Thanks Hawkeye,

I really appreciate that. It's funny but I didn't even know Popper played on this recording until I suggested that we learn the tune (because I had only heard live DMB recordings of it). But he most certainly does... and kills it like always. I tried to pay a little homage to Popper's intro (coming in on the 4 draw bend, ending the intro on a slow crunchy bend, etc) while doing my own thing on the rest of the tune. And because we don't a sax player I had to pick up the first section of the solo as well. But I don't mind because a nice transition from 3rd position to 2nd position mid solo can be quite nice.

And we love covering DMB. It fits the overall jam band/rock band style that we have sort of assumed quite nicely. We also do All Along the Watchtower (I know not originally a Dave tune, but we more or less play his arrangement), Ants Marching, Tripping Billies, Where Are You Going, and we used to play Bartender in a medley along with I Know What I am by Band of Skulls. DMB is, in my opinion, one of the sickest live bands ever.

Anyway, thanks a lot man for the kind words and the Facebook friendship.

Haha! Good idea Frank! But believe when I say that that we have already made PLENTY of jokes in reference to that double entendra. We joked about being the Randy Johnsons (my last name is Johnson), the Randy Johnson Band (triple entendra there), and a few other things. Our names just happen to lend themselves mighty well to that sort of humor. And we will most likely be changing the name of the full band set up soon. We just haven't come up with anything that tickles our respective fancies yet. Thanks for the comment man! Much appreciated!

Also, not on FB, but that's a fine tune-really lends itself to your interpretation.

If you go by The Randy Johnson Band, you'll end up being know as "The Big Units" (is that too old a reference? ha)

Thank you hooktool! And no that is definitely not too old of a reference. I've been a baseball fan my entire life so I know all about the big unit. And that bird he destroyed...
