Has anybody used one of these? Got great reviews on Amazon, and seems like a good buy at $118. My wife and I are thinking about doing an acoustic duo act for small coffee shops, and this unit may be just what we are looking for. Thanks.

I have not seen that but my wife and I bought a Fender Passport 150 used a few years ago and it has served us pretty well. 75 watts per channel, 2 channels, 4 inputs, 3 vocal and 1 instrument. Somewhat strange tone controls but I got used to them easily. This p.a. has provided sound for a small jam and several gigs over a few years. No floor monitors but you don't need them for small gigs and venues. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene

A friend and I used to use his Peavey Escort 3000 to host a few impromptu jam sessions a few years ago. It's not all one unit like that Powerwerks model, but it is all self contained, portable, easy to use, and pretty versatile.

I have two and they have no bottom end. My brother in law uses one JBL Eon 15" speaker with a small mixer and it sounds terrific for small gigs. I hear the Peavey PVX 15" is nice too. I do use my powerstroke a for studio monitors and they work well for that purpose but I am only 3 feet away. Good luck.

@Charles Please tell us/me more. I understand the "no bottom end". What I want to know is the clarity and "naturalness" of the vocals.
I am unhappy with the tone quality of the our current vocals and I am looking for small speakers with a "smooth" sound. Currently, our vocals sound like they are coming out of a box, which they are ---------- theharmonicaclub.com (of Huntington, WV)

I use two Powerwerks PW50s thru a small sound board and they work well and have plenty of bottom end to my ears. In fact I often have to much. I found the passports to sound thinner in comparison.
I run my guitar thru them mono, hard thru the vocal mic. Using a berhinger 12 channel board so one one each side. The guitar is run thru a digitech rp250.
I would recommend seeing if you could find a local shop that carries them and go test them out.
Unfortunately speaker tone is often as personal to each different person as harp tone or guitar tone.
Will they give me club thumping bass? No but for small acoustic gigs I am quite happy with them.
