.....Is that they disbanded in 1986 :( This single was their most successful in the States selling over 8 million copies. I’m playing it here on a Suzuki Harpmaster in the key of A with a touch of delay. Hope you like.

I like it! Again and again I like your choose of material, I like delay sound and I like your playing! :) Very-very good unusual harmonica stuff!

ARGH!!! You cut off the end just a little! You needed to let the sound ring out for a couple seconds. :(

Very nice though. I haven't listened to that song in a while, but I've always loved it.

(Every Breath You Take sounds nice on harp too.)

Thanks a lot Wheel for your encouraging words!!!

Thanks Clyde, You are right re the sales – I got my Wiki’s in a twist! Referencing the single on Wikipedia I got distracted and clicked on ‘Synchronicity’ which is where I got the 8 miliion from, (the reported total sales of the album of that name.) Bet they wish they had sold 8M copies of the single! And yes EBYT was their biggest selling single.

Thanks Nate. Believe me, I spared you the ‘car crash’ that was the following 2 secs. It all went horribly wrong from there on, but I could have been left in for comic effect I suppose!
I had it in mind what I was going to improv but the instrumental break took an unexpected change of direction and threw me. I looked at it again and found I didn’t have a Scooby-doo what to do there and so abandoned it and went for the subtle fade out on the original and hoped nobody would notice.

Greyowl, maybe you could have pulled it into an audio editor and faded the end? Or just done a little touch up? Anyway, great up until that. :)

Back then I had a 74 Econoline cargo van that I customized. I had a nice stereo with an amp and an EQ. And of course I had a bed in the back. It was a safe way to go to parties. You could get fucked up and then sleep it off. I played that cassette a lot. This was quite a bit before 86 as I recall though.

Thanks a lot guys!

LIP RIPPER :) Yeah, the album was released in June 1983 some 3 years before they split. That's 30 years ago, unbelievable!!!

Good memories of a great band.

Hm, I´ve must have missed that one altogether ...

Fine playing, as always. My only complaint (there must always be a complaint!) is that you should roll off the treble a bit; and -- but that´s my idiosyncrasy -- cup the mic for a warmer sound.

Thanks mr_so&so!

Thanks Martin. I have to say I agree with you on the treble comment. I find a lot of my recordings have a little too much high end. I'm still having difficulties establishing consistent recording levels. My PC has an onboard rather than dedicated sound card and my analogue fostex 4 track recorder and reverb unit are a bit long in the tooth:)

It's always a bit of a battle even trying to get the PC to
play the backing track at the right level and match
the harp volume to suit. I have started to dial back the treble but might need to take it back still further or better still buy some new equipment:)

I did use quite a closed cup on another song featuring Sting (an uptempo version of Moon over Bourbon St)and this is not quite so treble high.

@Grey Owl: Admittedly, I might be a bit of a fanatic when it comes to treble and the harmonica -- or shall I say the general harshness of harmonica. I wish I had a simple remedy for it -- but cutting the treble is a start. I very much prefer cupped microphones.
Sounding really warm costs a bit, I think. This here is the ticket, as far as I´m concerned -- and I mean the sound, not necessarily the tune, or playing, even if that´s great as well:
