Just for a bit of fun. Still chasing the blues sound but still sounding too darned jolly.
A little bit of Blues Harp played to 'Quick 2 Feel' a backing track from the superb 'Ultimate Jam Tracks Vol 3'. I am playing a Hohner Special 20 Diatonic in second position. Therefore I'm playing a "D" Harp in the key of "A". The tune was recorded using Cubase LE5 via a Roland MicroCube and through a Lexicon Alpha USB Mic Interface. Tone at 5 o'clock Delay at 10 o'clock Gain at 11 o'clock and using the MIC setting.
Any comments/ideas for improvement gratefully received. I know I still have some timing issues to resolve but I was quite pleased with the recording in general.

You should be pleased. You don't over-play and space is your friend. Good variation and phrasing. Nice overblows. I dig it!

Nice tune, tooka! That song don't need any more blues IMO. Sounded darn good! If you want a bluesy sound try som tongue blocking and heave at it. Try bending the two draw a lot and some bender 4-5 warbles. That's really dirty! ---------- Pistolkatt - Pistolkatts youtube

Thanks Pistol. Yeah! I'm learning TB but I don't consider myself good at it yet to make a recording. I'll get there eventually. I like the -2* must use it more.

I love the way you guys can identify the OB's so easily. Unless I listen over and over again, I may just be able to spot one if I'm lucky.

Nice use of the 6ob to get up up into the higher octave. Maybe not with a D harp, but then you can start messing around with the +10'' and the rest of the minor pentatonic that's up there. ----------

Good work! How long have you been playing? Good clean notes. You got the 6OB, specially nice OB at the end. I would like to hear some notes hold longer and working those notes tone. Nice 4-5 warble ... your tone changed there, maybe with a tighter cup? More of that stuff. Thanx 4 posting.

Thanks #S-harp. I've been learning to play for the last 6 years. I do make progress although it is quite slow compared with some. I take on board what you suggested and will try and add it to my technique bag. Thankyou once again. It was good of you to comment.
Thanks #mr_so&so. Yeah! I'm ok with the OB's on the higher harps although the lower I go the harder it is. Don't think I'll ever be able to OB with TBing though. At least not for a couple of years. :) Thank you.
Thanks #Rgsccr. Thanks for listening and commenting. Much obliged.

Sounds really good there, Tooka! You've got quite a few interesting musical ideas and it all flows very well. My only suggestion is to crank the delay a bit more, and have it more in the mix! But that's purely my subjective opinion (I love me lotsa delay!)... Great job! ----------

@isaacullah. Thanks Isaac. I too like delay but I get a bit worried about overdoing it. I turned my tone Hi on this one so maybe a bit more delay would have sounded OK. I'll play around and see. Thanks.
@CarlA. Thanks. Much obliged for your comment. Pleased you enjoyed my playing.
