Harmonica Clinic, Åmål’s Blues Fest, 12 July 2013.
I played Hohner Marine Band DeLuxe harmonica in the key of A through a Greg Heumann wood microphone connected to Yamaha THR10 amplifier lined out to PA.

The poverty of my talent is never more evident then when I try and hit a high note.....How you do it, bend it, and sustain it on an E! is just amazing to me. ---------- Facebook

Hope it was a great seminar....
A few comments (from my own singular point of view)
1. Don't linger on that 10 exhale bend vibrato at the opening. No need to. It's obvious you can do it. Short is a classier (IMO) way to show it.
2. You corrected that trill as we discussed on an earlier post. Good job.
3. Start to incorporate opening of the hands to take some of the "beef" out of the sound at strategic points, like Magic Dick does.
4. Part when, on the record, band enters (drum playing back beat on high hat), during those 3,4 and 4,5 hole trills could be backed off and played quietly, which sets up the excitement for when tune actually starts.
These are finer points and may give you a more balanced expression of this tune. ---------- The Iceman

I agree, but I would add that it might not be a bad idea to hold out the vibrato at the end to about that length. A more appropriate placement for it. ----------

The Iceman, HawkeyeKane:
Thanks for your constructive feedback! This forum is probably the only place on earth I could have that. Which is nice.
I agree with both of you regarding the hole 10 intro. It could be shortened. But when I started to practice this song many weeks ago I saw it is not so easy to play this hole 10 vibrato and I am still learning. So it's not an obvious thing to do. If I can master it, I can use this to position myself compared to other harp players by playing this tone very strong and for a long time. It's a quite strong effect so it's a good idea to move it to the end of the song.
I played the trills like a heavy metal guy so you have a good point Iceman to lower the level of that part. I just tried that and it feels much better, it gives the tune better dynamics. Magic Dick uses the bullet mic in a very tasteful way, it sounds really good. I've only played bullet mic seriously for a year so that will improve over time. But I know I need to improve the dynamic technique.
