As I mentioned in an old revived thread a few days ago, the last few gigs I've played, I've been without my Alamo due to its power cutting out intermittently. So until I get a chance to open it up and diagnose the problem, my band's bass player has been kind enough to lend me his Ampeg Jet J-20 reissue.

I've been putting my 'Zoo on its amp stand and running my mic & pedal signal into it, then running the line out into the Ampeg's "Normal" input. (I have yet to try it through the "Bright" input.) Keeping the volume around the neighborhood of 5 on both amps, and the tone similarly around 3 on both, I get some very deep and rich tone, and a nice crunch if I make a few minor adjustments to both amps' respective settings. Blowing through the Ampeg alone is pretty damn nice as well, I just haven't done it much because I like the setup with the 'Zoo too much to try experimenting just yet.
Wednesday night, we played at the Sangamon County Fair in my hometown of New Berlin, IL. Here's a board tape recording of our rendition of Roadhouse Blues. Keep in mind, this IS a board tape made by the sound engineer, and therefore not exactly how it sounded in the tent that night. The harp is a little quiet in the mix you'll hear, but you can still get a good feel for what the rig sounded like. Mic was my Akai DM13.

Sounded great to me Hawkeye. I,ve been looking to buy this amp,but they dont come on the market very often here in the uk.I lost out on the last one I saw on e-bay by £40 ($60),and now regret not going that bit extra. Finally sold for £377...approx$600. Still looking though.

I'm half tempted to fix the Alamo, spruce it up, and sell it at this point. Our bass player is hinting that he'd like to sell his since it's not really ideal for his purposes. I'd turn around and buy that sucker in a heartbeat. ----------
