This is the best blues tune I've heard for ages, love it. I hadn't heard of Taj Mahal before. The song sounds very original, I guess because he has lots of influences from other genres.
Love that tune, one of three Sleepy John Estes tunes on Taj Mahals first album. Then my favorite Taj Mahal penned song,"She Caught The Katy" was on his next album. The man is an icon of the blues and a national treasure!
Old double album "Giant Steps" "The Ol' Folks Back Home" blew my mind 30 years ago and still blows it today. Fantastic music. One is electric, the other acoustic. ---------- The Iceman
i've played with Taj Mahal! We did Midnight Hour and Divin' Duck Blues. He loved the Juke box and pinball machine in a bar near the University of Hawaii. He'd see me and try to knock me off my bar stool and we'd talk shop. Friendly chap. He has a house and children on an outer island but often visits Honolulu. ---------- MP affordable reed replacement and repairs.
