As much as I enjoyed this I didn't get the impression that the crowd was very interested.
Why's that?

@Littoral
You can not have done many gigs.

A lot of gigs the crowd, if there is one, talk amongst themselves.

This is what is happening here, however there are some of them grooving, watch it again man

This song is EPIC, and JR playing stellar. I particularly like the version that was recorded in Germany I think. The video is embedded on Greg H. Page, next to the ultimate 57 mics.

"A lot of gigs the crowd, if there is one, talk amongst themselves."

Yeah so, so true. So true in fact that if I play a gig and an audience is silent then I get a little worried. Just because people are talking or seem disinterested doesn't mean they aren't enjoying it. For the average man/woman in the street, music is just part of the scenery surrounding their life. It isn't the main focal point of it. That doesn't mean that they appreciate the music any less.

On Tuesday night, at the break, I went to the bar and a friend turned to me and said 'bit loud nick, we can't hear ourselves chat'

Ricci and Starsky are a killer combination! There is definitely ESP going on there. I love that band!
