So one of the guys from the old band left his Shure Beta 52A kick drum mic here.

think i could use it to mic an 5watt amp up to a PA?

Or would it just sound crappy????

Not sure about the element in it.... figured i would ask the guru's.

no pa handy. ours crapped out on us last week.... but the mic is almost brand new.

.....which is why i was looking for an experts opinion

Well they're supposed to be very resistant to feedback and geared for low end response. Have you tried blowing harp on it?

i did this evening.... and to my surprise.... it sounds pretty decent.

It's a dynamic mic, so it will be like a sm58 with a different frequency response. Better for lows.
