Unfortunately I'm not such skilled jazz player as Dave but when I first heard his "The deb" - from the first notes I wanted to play this tune. I changed arrangement and rhythmic approach a little bit. :) If you don't like the sound quality then sorry for that. It was my weird experiment to reproduce Dave's sound. :) I will not finish learn "The Deb" with this version I will try to make it better in future.

bonedog569, thanks a lot! I used diminished diatonic key of A (1 hole blow). My Ab harmonica is broken so I decided to play it in dimi harp. I used electrovoice re10 plugged directly into my sound card. As for sound I used only reverb and EQ (to increase low frequencies and decrease high freq ) I wish you a great vacation :) though I think there can't be bad vacations on Maui. :) ---------- my music
Oh come on Jason, I am sure you can play the tune, if you are so inclined-- I personally would have to use a custom tuning, and I have one started, but this version is nice--I like how you started in the second octave for the first pass . . .
Hey wheel, sounds great. Can I ask which "position" you used on diminished diatonic, 1, 2 or 3 (if position 1=blow unbent, 2=draw bent, 3=draw unbent)? I mean the to get root note of the tune. I ask because it sounds great (and also because I play diminished chromatic harmonica).
Hi Jason! Wow! Thanks a lot for listening! I've read your comments with Biiiiiig pleasure! Thank you, Gnarly! What tuning do you use? Hi blingty, I played it in first position on A (1 blow) diminished. Wow... diminised chromatic. Could you please share with us your recordings! it's very interesting! Thanks! ---------- my music
@ wheel For blues, Richter rules . . . I also use Major cross, Power Chromatic, and a tuning I developed that is circular on the bottom and Richter on top, I call it New World. I also play chromatic, with the Bebop tuned 4th and 8th hole--I have tried diminished diatonic, and chromatic. I am also studying Fourkey diatonic and the chromatic LeGato tuning (Fourkey on a chrom).
tbirdflier, thank you! Gnarly, interesting! I never heard about half of these tunings :) I agree for blues richter tuning is the best. ---------- my music
If it's not too much much to ask, could you share the chord progressions? I'd like to try this jazzy stuff but I'm pretty sure I'm going to need as much help as I can get.
Thank you Frank! It's cool to read such words from you! :) Nisei, I'm going to make a video about how to play "The deb" without bends and overbends :). I plan to put a chord progression into it. ---------- my music
