on a recent tour of northern Ireland,I went to a pub quite near my hotel in derry...while sipping on a pint I played harp softly and was invited to stay later to hear a local legend play sax&clarinet..when he came in I asked him to play stranger on the shore,a famous clarinet solo played by acker bilk...after he played he said we have a guest from north Carolina(actually live in east ten)and invited me up to play my version on a Bb special 20...I played my best and got a warm round of applause and complimented by mrmcintyre....he once was asked by nat king cole to come back to America after hearing him play in Belfast...hopefully,I will never have a tougher act to follow
