Got a SP20 last month overblows on hole 456 without any lekage and bent a whole tone easy. 7 overdraw was almost as good as the 4 draw regular. I didn't even have to gap it.. I probably got a little lucky but everybody says that hohner realy has made a leap in quality!

All my Marine Band Deluxe and 1896 didn't need any tweaking out of the box. They all play superbly. The Golden Melody harps I have were the same. Hohner are producing some very good harps these days.

If only hohner would upgrade the golden melody comb
They are made of some bad plastic that chips easily.

@Willspear Yes, but I dropped mine on the stone tiles in my kitchen. I am trying to take care, but I agree Hohner should up-grade their combs

Without exception. Every single new Hohner i come across- even the MS series are REALLY good harps with the Big River possibly the best of the bunch for the price. Hohners are better now than they have ever been. my gig harps are MBs, MBDs, SP/20s, and Crossovers. my GMs and my B-Rad are carry harps.
as a side note- i prefer the tone of a medium priced Hohner over my killer B-Rad. Can't explain it. Odd.
my fav GM has a cherry red dymondwood comb. it's beautiful as well as sounding killer. ---------- MP affordable reed replacement and repairs.
