Our band is doing Canned heat's 'On the road again' and I need an A harp with the 6 draw raised a half tone.
I should probably learn to do it myself, but I think by the time I wreck a good harp or two,it might be better for now if I can get one at a decent price and help support an aussie customiser.
(I know I could also do it with an overblow, but I'm not yet confortable with that either).

I haven't found any I can afford yet. I think with a cautious approach and suitable tools its not a real big problem, but my retuning efforts have been limited to resto to original tuning, not as much as a half step. Maybe experiment with a broken one?

Yeah, 350 bucks and three months waiting isn't gonna work for me

Unless something else comes up I think I'll have a shot with a cheap one, but I'll still be scared to touch one of my good manjis

thanks

Hi didjcripey.

Tuning is a really simple job. If you like I can help you out with it. Just check my info on profile and shoot me an email or add me to Skype. If youre in Sydney, Id be happy to quickly walk you through it.

Hey Big Feller, thanks, much appreciated.

I have tried it, and have sort of successfully brought a few flat reeds back in to tune; I thought a half step might be a bit harder.
I'm a long way from Sydney, but visit occasionally.
I'll give it a shot and see how it goes.

By the way, I love that 'sailor jerry presents' youtube clip of yours;
I've stolen quite a bit of it!

Lester. This is just my two cents just in case you need a little reassurance. Take Ray up on his offer and let him walk you through this. It is way easier that you imagine. I can promise you that when you are done you will wonder why you were hesitant.

Yeah those Neil Graham harps ain't cheap. In my opinion it would be a good thing to learn how to tune your own harps. I'd take Ray up on his kind offer.
