My good friend Kenny Dore out of Asheville swears by him and says nothing but good things about him all the time. He thought the "Boy" was a killer. I'll get more info and let ya know.

Seems like there was a guy on this forum not long ago who mentioned he had the BIG Boy Elroy....drawing a blank on who it was though.

That be me on the deck, Really love the amp, very simple, don't need to crank bass up like guitar amps.

Nice tone! $1750 is a bit steep. That funky cab must cost a lot. Getting 20 usable watts from two 6V6 tubes that are cathode biased in push pull is quite a trick in a harp amp. I'm skeptical...

I'd like to try it out!

That AMPhibian sounds pretty killer too. In the interest of completing the Mergilli line-up, here's the Tweed Indeed. I like this sucker. Every one is built into an old Zenith radio cab!

The OP asked about the BOY ELROY - the 5 watts model and it costs 850$, pretty much the same price as the Harpgear 2. Personally I wouldn't care much for a 5 watts amp to get a boutique one, in the 900$ - 1000$ price range you get a lot of choice for a good mid sized one. I do realy like the Amphibian though, it just has the tone that I really like.

tmf714, Thanks for posting a couple of my videos here on Adams awesome site! As for the amp, (got it before the price hike) it is extremely light and has almost no feed back issues and since it is made for harp no tinkering is needed even with the 12AX7 tubes. Just plug and play. I will travel the country from time to time looking for places to play and if you see me, anyone here is more than welcome to try it out. On the William Clarke tune the amp was at around 3/4 volume, treble 1/2, bass 1/4, mid 1/2. The only problem I have is how to make a cover for the trapezoid shape. Any suggestions? Also I have met several people on this sight and look forward to meeting many more and maybe even the big dog Adam. Oh and I believe that John Mergili will make what ever you want and he is easy to deal with. Let me see...... anything else? Oh, the 6V6 tubes are ones that I have never seen before, they are JJ 6V6S's and are much larger than your standard 6V6 tube.
Take Care
