Hey people! I Recorded this improvisation last month And I really Like my improvisation... But I want to know if you like that too Thanks for FEEDBACK!!
OK, I'll jump in Igor. Overall the improvisation is fine but I couldn't hear the backing track well enough to hear how it fit in with it. The harp was too loud. I liked your octaves and vibrato but the harp was full on all the time and the backing track (What I could hear of it) suggested there needed to be some quieter, slower passages. That's only my opinion, I'm only a keen amateur so my thoughts may not mean a great deal.
@tookatooka Thanks man!! I'm happy to read your opnion... And now I have one more thing to work! If you are a professional or amateur, It doesn't import!! Just what you feel! And you said!
I myself am just a student. Great tone, Igor. I found it a little "busy" and for my taste, if you repeated a few more phrases and developed themes it would have been more cohesive. Overall you played very well. Bravo.
I like 'busy' sometimes. As for overpowering a backing track, there are two schools on that. One is to treat it like a band you are a member of and give it room to shine. The other is to treat it like a band you are paying to back you. It's probably worth learning both ways, but on any given track you can go either way with it.
Pretty damn good! BREATH! ..Tone, familiarity with the instrument...all good. Maybe focus on open spaces, or holes...for the band to be heard. At one point I couldn't hear anything but you...frantically playing as many notes as possible. It's a stylistic thing, too. A tad too busy for me. But your sense of familiarity with the entire instrument, is impressive. It shows that you are at an intermediate/advanced level. Keep it up! The 'busy' aspect is hard hill to climb. For me, it is still an obstacle to overcome. And focusing on your relaxing breathing within the cadence is going to be the trick...what ARE you saying? Listen to cats like William Clarke, Kim Wilson, Paul deLay, they have given me clues on the where, when, and how, of being artful, original, and fresh. Hope you can take some of this and use it. I believe Charlie M. once said, when referring to aspiring beginners, who want to sound "mature", and generally "fit in" with the band, too..., he said, "listen, listen, and then listen some more".... There will always be something new, that you didn't hear the previous times. And it will be a revelation! That's my 25 cents. ----------
Thanks for all of you guys!! I really need to know all this things about my Improvisation, Tone, 3 draw and more and more.. I'll continue to study and shared with you! To know how I'm growing...
