@ Martin: That's bit personal isn't it? I appreciate your comment is just a lighthearted snipe at West's "get up", but last I checked sunglasses were legal attire and quite popular amongst humans in general ;-) ---------- www.myspace.com/markburness

Ooooh! handbags at 12oclock boys!, stop having a go and have a listen this is a GREAT song really catchy and fun, perfect for the first hint of Spring here in Blighty. This is going straight in my set list for the imaginary Blues Band that I am currently fronting in my head.
Trickbag is a dream band for a harp player to be a part of, no wonder there is a handful of pro harpsters lined up to be on this new Cd...I have bad eyes and have to were sun glasses out side even on a cloudy day - so it ain't a stretch to think that shades are worn by some players to ease eye tension. Personally when a blues man can deliver the goods musically, I feel the dark shades are very cool.

Indeed, if the performance is good enough I wouldn't care less if the guy wears a snorkel & flippers! ;-) I'm sure the sunglasses come in handy too when West is on board a jet, above the cloud line, flying the 2000mile round trips to his gigs with Trickbag...as hard working, internationally reknowned & active musicians do...;-) ---------- www.myspace.com/markburness
West is not currently able to post here, but he has asked me to post this on his behalf...
"Hello there harp enthusiasts!
I've never posted on here before but do take a peek every now and then.
I'm glad to hear that some of you like this recent youtube clip of me playing with "Trickbag". They are indeed a "dream band for a harp player" and I feel honoured and flattered to be invited to play with them.
As for the "shades"......I started playing in 1976 and my hero was "Paul Butterfield". At 17 years old I think it's not uncommom to want to emulate your idols. It also helped as a kind of mask for stage nerves. To add it was not a general "look" for a harp player in the UK at that time. Now, many years later I still wear them but they are perscription lenses [probably why they look as if they could be better off a shade darker]. Personally, I would love to lose that look now! BUT......a few years back I had an operation for glaucoma that has left me with my eyes being odd sizes.....one slightly closed and the other more open than before. I find this emarrassing and choose to wear them for confidence when on stage. Vanity really.
Anyway...back to the band. They are a great bunch of fellas without a single ego amongst them. They are all team players....which really shows I think. The song is an original written by me. I did a guide vocal in the studio which was intended to be overdubbed by Tommy Moberg. They decided to share the final mix and keep my vocal in.
Oh...just noticed the hair thing....yes I'm an' old greaser!!
Best wishes to you all Happy harping West Weston."
@Martin - Apologies if I came accross "high handed", Mark.

Thanks Mark ...Gotta love Wes, his ultra cool style and sense of humor, that was a great hello from him....He is in my opinion easily in the same league as Rod, Bill, Dennis etc...And he just exudes "confidence" - his stage presence is that of a consummate professional :)
Steve "West" Weston is a great guy. He also builds good harps, has great chops, some serious tone and plays a mean piano too. He has a lot of knowledge to impart and it's always good fun chatting with Steve. Tomi Leino is also badass harp player as well as playing great guitar. Tomi was very good friends with William Clarke and it shows in his harp playing.
