Anyone experiencing this from playing?

A few months ago I switched from my trusty little Brown Biscuit mic back to my old Shure 707A Silver Bullet which I had not played for some time. I started experiencing soreness in my left bicep (which I originally thought was from hauling firewood). A few gigs ago, my left hand began to go numb, and it dawned on me that this was all due to holding the 707A - which is a large and heavy mic (my hands are relatively small). Switched back to the Biscuit last night and felt much more relaxed playing although pain is still present. Has anyone had this issue and any sure fire recommendations for the road to recovery?

Get used to it. You can go to therapy; I did. I actually know the owner of the rehab center personally. I saw him weeks later in the grocery store and he asked me how mine was doing. I told him it was still there. He shook his head, paused and said that is tough to get over. Now I use the mouse left handed and sold my motorcyle. I guess it beats pushin up daisy's.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if it was actually being caused by gripping both the harp and the mike with too much force and tho I've never had that tendonitis problem, I did experience soreness whenever I did that and so you may want to think about that and revise how you hold those together and not have a vise grip on them.

I've had tendonitis problems from all sorts of causes. Ice right after, then after 24 hrs., hit the heating pad. An anti-inflammatory and rest too. Depending exactly where the pain is there are probably some specific stretching exercises you can do. (I'm doing back stretches at the moment, pulled something just below my shoulder blades.

Get a Thai massage, it works on shoulders etc

I get cramp from holding my bullet, so I stick it on a stand and sit down

You sure it's tendonitis and not nerve compression or the like?

I have it also but it's from using power tools and weed eaters and the like. Most of the time it's ok. Stretches, ice/cold, biofreeze, and massage therapy have all been part of my recovery. I recently got a TENS unit for my foot but if needed I can use it on my elbow as well.
I do like my harp mic in a stand lately.
