Like it or not you won't have heard of anything quite like this. Live performance Harp, vocals and spoons - custom stainless steel I reckon :)
Tis Rory McLeod.
Lyrics below vid. EDIT looks like he's added another verse.
well theres a man with his fingers in everybodys pie I hope he washes some of them sometimes he talks the money, by talking he eats he talks to keep himself off of the streets well if theres anything you need he'll pretend that hes got it and then he'll pretend that he can't part with it he studies hunger like a lawyer studies law he can make a rich man poorer than poor

Rory McLoed... now we're talking! This man is simply brilliant, a real original. So much wit, humour and musical talent in many manifestations. If you ever get a chance to see him live, go!
Check out the original video of this song, so smartly filmed and edited to match his performance:
@ Kingley Thanks, highly enjoyable song I love this rhythmic style, Is Rory playing the comping low in the mix throughout and do you think he plays the short solo 2.22.to 2.43. ---------- My MBH Profile Grey Owl YouTube Grey Owl Abstract Photos Website
Grey Owl - It's a great CD and well worth having. I'm not sure where Rory is playing on that track. I do remember that on the CD it tells you who plays what solo where. I no longer own any CD's as nowadays all my music is in mp3's.
Volunteered at the Vancouver Folk Music Fest last weekend (backline production stage crew, get to drive the golf carts delivering congas and amps to stages. Best gig ever!) Met Rory when he came looking for help tracking down his delayed luggage. Carted it back from stage 6 for him and we were BFF's for the rest of the weekend. Caught as many of his performances as I could sneak away to see. Totally awesome solo acoustic harp and stomp board. Bottomless pit of songs and stories. But what most impressed me was he went out of his way to get the names of stage managers, sound crew, me(!) and remembered them for the whole weekend. Total pro. I'm a fan. (Funny, he was wearing the same shirt all festival as shown in the first video :) )

Thanks, Grey Owl. I've loved every clip I've seen by him; I put this one on the website's "best harmonica videos," where it surely belongs.

Rory is a great player on so many fronts but his rhythm playing is deserving of study. Also, to utilize whooping or falsetto effects into a phrase or scale without sounding like Sonny Terry is pretty tough too.
