It just took me about 15 attempts to post. Is there a problem with it other than the known disappearance of post text if the capta does not take? Now lets's see what happens when I try the capta (I think thats the acronym) on this ---------- Facebook

What I've recently discovered is that it is VERY case sensitive and it took me that long to figure it out (or else the computer would have a size 12 shoe in its face LOL). ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte

captcha is NOT case sensitive.
It DOES, however, present ambiguous images. That's a regular occurrence I've documented before. Maybe there's something else going on now. Let's see- the captcha below is clear so I should get it on the first try.....
Edit: Yes, I did.

This captcha is uttuth I think that's interesting . . . But yeah, it's been ambiguous sometimes. Oh snap, I didn't put it in--but the new one is still pretty easy to decipher, rn2m6g Let's copy and paste this time, OK? Edit:It worked.

Q's and O's are often ambiguous, as are A's and H's. If you miss one, you should be able to back page to get your text back- usually. They don't seem to be consistently obscured. Anyone could solve the one I see right now. Some are nearly impossible. Every now and then they go on the fritz, but they've actually been working much more consistently lately. I still hate them. I wish there was an admin power to turn them off for a member after we are sure the person is a real person. They also time out after a few minutes, so if you open a window and read a long thread you probably will have to reset the captcha. It bugs me particularly, because when I log on the site I usually use the control key to open all the threads I want to read before I actually read them, which means they have almost all timed out by the time I get to them. ---------- Nate Facebook Thread Organizer (A list of all sorts of useful threads)

I have taken to composing my posts in Word, then cutting and pasting to the forum. That way if captcha does not work, I still have what I composed. Good thing too, I lost this post the first time and was able to re-paste it.
I have lost long posts before. That may have been the universe’s way of telling me not to compose long posts, but If so, I am not listening!

STME58, you could just cut and paste from your post! Of course, it's easy to accidentally hit 'post message' out of force of habit. Composing in Word is also useful if your post is going to be longer, since you can see the whole post at once. I don't know about anyone else, but on my longer posts I often think of something I should have mentioned, and scroll back up to insert it, and on a small window like this, sometimes that leads to non sequiturs and other interrupted forms of thought, which were even worse before they imposed the 5000 character cap.
