If anyone has been following the sale of 3 Seydel 1847 (one with white comb), they were on the seat of my truck which was stolen on March 20th. I recognize the marking C/G on the cover of one. The seller is located not 9 miles from where I live. I am in touch with the CHP to try and recover them and my truck. I am not mistaken, I recognize my harps. Please do not bid on them.

Investigation is in progress. Can't say any more for the moment. Thanks for the encouraging words. Would like to see this guy busted.

I hope you get your stuff back, that doesn't happen often enough.

That eBay seller has been around a long time, I remember the name. I wonder if he eneded up with the stuff as a third party.

I hate theives, I've had a few guitars stolen over the years. I called the law on some guys attempting to steal my neighbors Corvette a few years ago, felt really good.

This guy is a long time ebayer, looks like a pawn shop. A buddy here had his scooter stolen last fall. He is a symphony trumpet player, 2 of his favorite (likely rare and expensive) trumpets were in the bags, along with his ipad and daytimer. One trumpet and the ipad showed up at a thrift shop, he got them back. On his ipad was this guys open email account. He knows who the guy is, his email address and where he lives. Cops re-action: Nobody got hurt, we have better things to do! He's hired a detective to try and recover the remaining trumpet. Good luck.

A good news update. After winning the auctions for both the harmonicas and microphone, I received an email from the seller. He was suspicious and wanted me to call him and see if everything was all right. Happy to say I called him and was able to get back my harmonicas and mic, plus a a set of 6 Manjis which he also had, that had been in my truck. I want to say that the seller is an honest man in my book. He took a hit and also did the right thing by contacting me. Hopefully, someday they will find my truck. But at least my harps and mic are back.

That's great news. Hopefully the truck was insured, most vehicles end up out of the country or chopped according to my law enforcement friends.

Lesson learned. However, the harps and things were not in plain sight. They took the whole damn truck!

On a good note, I got my truck back today. It was found parked on a residential street. Undamaged and a half tank of gas. I recovered most of the valuables last week. Much of the stuff inside the cab was gone, but I can live with that and am happy to have my property back.

That's about as good an ending as possible. :)

It's got me thinking about ways to mark my harmonicas just in case.

Next time you have the covers off your harps or your mic dismantled..Scribe your name on the inside and leave a good fingerprint.
