On eBay a few weeks ago, I was perusing a search I ran on 7868 NOS tubes looking for good deals on a set of spares for my Alamo.

One thing I came across was a matched pair of RCA 6GM5's, because it said these were the same as 7868's just with the miniature noval pinbase.

Here's my question. Depending on the strength of the rectifier and output tranny, would these be useable in an EL84 amp? Granted, pretty much everything that 7868's were put in was configured push-pull, so Class-A EL84 amps might be out. But something that uses push-pull EL84's, like a Reverb 12, would that be doable? Might get some less chimey tone.
