I picked up a mouse amp. No charger, and I suspect the battery is long dead, but I expect this should not be an insoluble problem. I know these were popular busking amps, and I like that it has an 8" speaker, but I've never heard one live and clearly they are a superseded concept. Is it worth messing around with? ----------

I like mine. Electrolab still makes the battery and charger. Prefer my Maxi Mouse to all of the newer ones I have.

Mm, I'm in Australia so I'd need a different charger anyway...I expect I'll be able to find an equivalent battery/charger locally but I may be dreaming... ----------

All Mice require two 6volt lead acid batteries wired in series with a center tapped negative (so that the amp circuit "sees" +6v, 0v, and -6v on three separate power rails). Thus, it's a little more complex than a single 12v lead acid battery that most modern battery amps will be using. You need a charger that is set for that battery setup, and not for a typical 12v setup. Not impossible to find, but still a little more difficult than another battery amp.
I don't own a Mouse, nor have I ever. I've just wistfully looked at very expensive e-bay postings and Adam Gussow videos and dreamt of owning one one day! Actually, I've had plans to build one myself for some time now (not the exact circuit, but same idea). IMO, it was the best format for a battery amp that has ever really existed. Right chassis size/shape, right wattage, right tone. There are other battery amps out there in the modern market, but nothing I've heard of comes close to having all the features of the Mouse. I think it'll be worth your while to fix it up, especially if you ever plan to play out on the street... If not, send it my way! ;) ----------

I picked this one up quite cheaply, but yeah, no battery charger so how cheap is something which doesn't work? Seems to have a Panasonic battery fitted... Looks as though the way in is to remove the speaker ----------

Oh yeah I think I need a charger which runs off 240vac though. They seem to make a euro model which may be ok for Australia. ----------
