Having a little trouble with this. The Blues Foundation, started by Willie Dixon is the real deal, each year a dozen or so artists make it to the Blues Hall of Fame. Now there's this generic Blues Hall of Fame in New York iwho is annointing ambassadors into the Blues Hall of Fame. Are the two the same,is this a gimmick to promote the Blues Foundation, anybody know anything about the two,or is it the same, its confusing. You have bands going around bragging that they are in the Blues Hall of Fame, and nobody knows them from the generic New York Blues Hall of Fame.

I don't know anything about it, but it reminds me of Facebook. On Facebook, anyone can start a page for blues, rock, poetry, whatever, and people will click on it. When you like something specific, there may be some official connection. Baseball teams have official FB pages. Bands have official FB pages. When you click on 'like' for the blues, you are endorsing (and sharing your info with) some random person who named the page.

So, who would have the authority to make a 'definitive' blues hall of fame, and why would their claim to it be any better than the next guys? (Sort of like claiming one 'crossroads' is the real crossroads as a marketing ploy, without doing any homework on it, as Adam pointed out once.)

http://www.blueshalloffame.com/Local_Blues_Talent/Local_Blues_Talent_of_New_York.html This is what I'm referring to.Seems anyone half descent can now be associated, nominated, voted into the Blues Hall of Fame in New York as an "AMBASSADOR".Is this good or bad?I'm thinking half good/half bad.

Halls of fame, award shows, all that, it's never really been anything more than marketing or some random person making lists, or a pay for membership scheme, like the Better Business Bureau has turned into. Notice they have (R) next to the titles?

Time again for bumpage.I can handle the truth. We got people leaving for N.Y.C. from Pittsburgh, all happy ,they're getting inducted in the New York Hall of Fame.I guess you can take a short cut to the top now and just settle on being an ambassador to the Blues Hall of Fame.Is this affiliated with The Blues Foundation or what?I feel if you do become an ambassador(which by the way looks easy with the number of bands they select),don't think for one minute your in the real Blues Hall of Fame, thats in Memphis and about a dozen per year are selected.
