I received a couple of acrylic Golden Melody combs today from Tom Halchak at www.bluemoonharmonicas.com My first impressions are they look great and are very flat. They seem to improve the compression of the harps to my ear. They are also a little thinner than the stock comb. I'd like to thank Tom for the "little bonus" as he described it. I really like the purple comb that Tom sent me. It's a very cool colour. I like them a lot and will certainly be ordering more of them. Here's a few pics of the combs.

Holy screwed up HTML batman! I've got to head out the door so I don't have time to trouble shoot, but I think maybe you left of a closing tag.
I've got a gorgeous orange combed Sp20 from Tom with a sunrise (sunset?) sticker on it. It's my prettiest harp, and it plays great (except for the reed I snagged being careless while swapping the comb. I've got a several others too. I'd describe how pretty they are, but I have to go clear the snow off my car!

Doh! Sorry Nate. Sorted it out now I think. Yeah I've seen some pictures of those orange combs. They look great. Tom certainly makes some nice combs.
Double Doh! Apologies to Tom as well. I've just noticed that the way I took the first picture the website text on the comb is reading upside down. Sorry Tom.
Arrgh Triple Doh! In the thread title I put bluemoonharmonica.com and of course it should be "bluemoonharmonicas.com Can one of the mods fix my error please.

jiceblues - I find the Golden Melody an easy harp to play anyway. The added compression combined with the thinness of the comb that Tom's combs give may make it play quicker/easier. To be honest I'm full of a head cold at the moment, so haven't given the combs a really thorough workout. Therefore I'm not in a position to make a full assessment yet. From my initial playing though they do enhance the playability, aside from looking very cool as well of course.

Okay, fixed. I don't know why it now says the last post was by a guest. How odd. The forum seems to be acting a little funny today.

I have used excellent custom combs from several major comb builders, in my HarveyHarp optimized harmonicas, but what I like about Tom and Blue Moon Harmonica is the great customer service, and the huge array of comb materials, colors, coverplates, Skins, and the fact that he has hundreds in stock.
Keep it up Tom.
P.S. I have no financial interest in Blues Moon Harmonicas in any shape, form or fashion. ----------
