Anyone have experience playing a stadium that holds 100,000 fans - what's the best mic and amp for a gig like that? Thanks! here is a picture of were it's at...

I think a pignose amp unmiked would be your best option. Just make sure to set the volume below halfway, as you may cause hearing loss to your audience if you "push" that little amp too hard. You may want to swap out the 4" speakers for ceramics!

Play acoustically, no amp or mic. Better tone.

Thanks Carl - I was hopin someone could relate to this difficult situation :) I definitely want the audience to listen very closely to the the dynamics rather then blow their faces off - great advise!

Rick - I was told that If I want, I can call them all down to the field and gather them all around for an intimate acoustic set...Hopefully someone will record that for youtube.

I'd say something along the lines of Pete Townshend's old Marshall stack rigs. ;-)

Don't forget to start by saying "Listen Here", like a good blues man.

Tone comes from you. Gear doesn't matter.

Meh....guilty on some counts. But here's a legitimate point regarding those lines. What kind of rig does Daltrey use? Seems the Super Bowl is along the lines of an event and venue you're indicating in your pic. As far as I've ever been able to tell, he just plays through his vocal SM58 directly into the PA. Pretty clean that way, but perhaps a Harp Attack or some other preamp in front of the PA could get you where you wanna be in that setting.
