Anyone got any decent blow 9 down to draw 2 riffs? Been noodling with this lately and can get down quite smoothly but they don't sound very bluesy. Ideas anyone?
Sorry for any confusion I mean +9 to -2 riffs (Tab form)
Or 9 blow down to 2 draw riffs.

Your right, that's tough. I usually stay at one end or the other. The only things I play that use lots of runs that wide are some bugle calls and my version of 'Saints go Marching In', and that only covers the whole harp because I echo the melody again higher and then do a slide from the 6 to 10 blow to finish. Sorry I couldn't help. Let us know what you come up with.

with the 6 overblow and 7 overdraw you get yourself 2 full blues scale octaves, worth practicing....

I really like the 3 run downs that Carlos del Junco does at about 5:18 of "Heaven's Where You'll Dwell" on the Big Boy cd. First one stops at 4 draw (+ = blow) (7-8-7 = triplet)
As close as I can tell: 9+ 9 8 7-8-7 6+ 4 5 4 5+ 4
second one reverses back to the 6 blow,
9+ 9 8 7-8-7 6+ 5+ 6+ 7 6+
The third starts on a 10 blow bend and steps down to the 1 with a few triplets. I'm not sure of the middle part. It starts with: 10+'' 10 9+ 8+ 8 9 8 8+ .... and ends with something like: 3 4+ 3 4+ 4 4+ 3 3+ 3 2 2+ 1
moose. (This was a very worthwhile exercise. Lots of careful listening. I may not have it tabbed correctly but I can play it waaaaay better than when I started.)

Thanks for the comments. I'm going to practice some of those and put some sound files on here so others can hear them too. Never been able to get the 10 blow bent though. ----------

I had 1 or 2 I did until I learned the blues scale. Now I'm reworking my 2 octave riff to have only blues scales notes with no overblows. Here's kinda what I do. ( -9 = 9 draw )
9 -9 -8 7 6 -5 -4 4 -3' -2
Sometimes I like to start it with the 10draw (-10)a hair above the octave on the beat before 1, then take it to -2" below the bottom ocatve and then back.
-10 9 -9 -8 7 6 -5 -4 4 -3' -2 -2" -2
