I was getting out of my car today when my favorite harp slipped out of my hand. To stop it, I pulled my card door shut quickly to keep the harp from falling in the mud. Well, I stopped it, with the door.
Now that my cover plates are mangled beyond repair, I would like to save the hours of work that went into sealing the comb, embossing the reedplates, etc. It WAS my favorite harp.
I could always buy a new harp and switch the covers to have a backup, but I wonder if anyone has purchased cover plates? I have not found any sources, and my dead box does not include any Marine bands yet.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've banged out dents in covers. Getting the main dents out isn't hard but getting it really smooth again is tough unless you have the right tools. Since the covers are messed up already you might want use it to practice modding covers. Opening up the back is easy and if you aren't worried about aesthetics it's really easy. I also like to bend the front foreword to create a smoother shape on the front edge, although I'm still looking for the right tool to get that smooth.
Ooo... padded pliers...

MB cover plates are available. Google Harponline, they are in Germany and are a good company to deal with.
