I bought a turboslide awhile back and have had a bit of time to play around with it... In general, I think it is interesting/ fun but have been continually frustrated with one aspect, the inability to consistency hit notes with the slide pushed in. It is very easy to hit a standard blow note and then use the turboslide to drop it a half step but more often than not when I try to hit a blow note with the slide pushed in (i.e.. 2 blow: Bb on G harp) the note either doesn't sound or stalls out first. I have experimented with my attack and played with the gapping quite a bit to find a sweet spot but have been unsuccessful in solving the problem entirely. I'm curious if anyone else out there has discovered a solution... Would half valving help (seems redundant: valves and magnets)? Any comments or suggestion....? Thanks.

I've noticed similar problems. It's a lot of fun to play with. I haven't written a review yet though because I'm not sure how much of the problem is my playing. One thing I noticed right away was how little, compared to a regular slide, you have to push it in. I nearly broke in before I even put it up to my mouth. I thought the slide was jammed! There really are some things it can do better than other harps. I'm having a lot of fun doing quick chord bends. I haven't taken it apart yet so I don't have any theories on what the jamming/no note sounding issue is. It seems to mainly affect my one blow. Until I learn the layout better it's mostly a special effects harp for me, but I really do like it as that. I wish it would do the whammy bar things on draw notes too. I've been messing around with some bugle calls (bugle calls are all blow notes!) and it create some downright other-earthly sounds.

Thanks for the input Nacoran. I'm going to keep experimenting b/c if everything worked as it should it would be a pretty great harp. Anyone else mess'in about with the Turboslide?
