At some point in the next couple of years, I'm going to put my '92 Honda up for auction on eBay: "The car featured in a hundred YouTube blues harmonica videos." Bluesmobile with 375,000 miles as I write. Good acoustics in those front seats.

What we need is a lively "discussion" on the relative risks and merits of driving and playing harp. Extra points if you can seamlessly integrate comb material and religion.
In general I don't approve of driving and playing the harp, although I've certainly done it. If you're going to do it, the best place would be a wide, untraveled divided highway. Put cruise control on, sit in the rightmost lane.
The one time when I do heartily approve of vehicular harping is when you're stuck in a bad traffic jam--where you're either stopped or proceeding (i.e., doomed for the next little to proceed) at a crawl. In that case, the harp can be an extraordinary blessing. Instead of wasting time in traffic, you've suddenly been gifted with practice time.
I mostly practice in a car. In traffic jams and while waiting for something (e.g. while my wife is in the store). Never play while actually drive. ---------- Excuse my bad English. Click on my photo or my username for my music.
When I drove a cab during the summer months when I was about 20 years old, I actually did play while driving, tho mainly with a chromatic, and I actually got a big up tick in tips doing it, especially when I was driving in downtown Boston, where traffic would really be pretty bad. ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte

I don't mean to be a buzz kill, but I every time I read these threads, I can't help but wonder what a harmonica and a deploying air bag would do to a person's dental work.
Here is one thing that could happen from airbag deployment...Norton almost swallowed his harp, he looks a bit dazed and confused from the impact!

I once tried to remove a pullover sweat jacket while driving. It got stuck and I couldn't see a thing for what seemed like forever. I'm guessing I was cruising along for 30-40 seconds at 75 mph completely blind.
Fortunately I had really good alignment and was driving in the South West. I probably could have driven in a straight line for half and hour without veering out of the lane.
I once pulled into a bank and parked out of the way in view of the teller windows while my wife went inside. I pulled out my harp and started playing/practicing while I waited. Unaware I had raised suspicion within the bank my wife finally tuned in to the plot by bank security to surround my truck and see what I was up to. They were not sure if I was smoking on something or talking on something. One Guard said, "He might be playing one of those harmonica things." That's when my wife spoke up and said,"That's my husband, he's waiting for me." spoiling the whole RAID. LOL
Well Frank, the three big gold records on the bumper was, at that moment: 1. Little Walter ... Hate to See You Go 2. The Blind Boys of Alabama ... Spirit of the Century (feat. C. Musselwhite) 3. Mavis Staples ... You are not alone (not much harp but her voice!)
