Very cool. I like your harp playing a lot, and the uke gives you your own rhythm track. I've been toying with the idea of a uke - seems like a lot of us toy with this idea, or have followed up on it - for a while. Hearing this pushes me a little farther in that direction. What size/model uke are you using?
It's a Mahalo. I don't know what model other than that it's shaped like a mini Strat. The local music store had reduced it because it's got a bit of paint damage on it, so it was a way of getting a semi-decent one without spending too much. Also, it has a pickup, which is handy. It's a cool instrument - I'm already addicted! Plus, like the harp, people's expectations are generally so low that they're amazed if you can play it at all! Go on, get one.
loved it. Just jumped into the uke universe, myself..three weeks ago, highly addictive stuff, already got 2 ukes .Ryan ,if you have a little guitar playing experience helps a lot . I would recommend to start with a Kala uke , I have a Kala concert and a Cordoba tenor . Funny stuff ...bought a harp rack , and I can play harp and uke fairly decent , but harp on the rack is such a different animal, cannot do it.....yet
Nice! I've got a Kala tenor Uke, but like sorin, I haven't mastered the rack yet... You've got a really great groove and sound going on in this tune. Loved it! ----------
I've tried the rack too,but can't coordinate my playing very well - worth working on though.
Here's one last uke and harp thing before I run out of weekend. This is a substantially higher-pitched version of Filisko and Noden's 'Roo Chase' (or at least as much as I could manage - can't keep that fox chase rhythm going for that long yet) -
Wow that sounded good, both the uke and the harp ,I really like that,How are them ukes tuned?I never played one, thought about it but got so many string instruments im still learning on,One more might send me over the eadge;-)Sounded great ---------- Hobostubs
