I just got me a new resonator guitar, this weekend,Been messing around with it,I came up with a new setup for 1man band, for taking to open mics,My 1man band setup is getting big, with a suitcase basedrum a high hat,rp 155 effects pedal, add a guitar amp and guitar and thats alot of stuff to be breaking out at a busy open mic,
Dont get me wrong I like the setup I built the footdrums sound good,But the last open mic we had was a mess,I had allready come up with a stomp box idea, enstead of taking the whole footdrums,It worked allright and was alot less stuff to carry
But i decided to build me a new stompbox its small, sturdy sounds good though a PA,And So now i can just take the resonator and a harp or 2 and a rack and the stompbox ,it all fits in the acoustic case,
Now need to jump a train and head for the open mics;-)
Hobo, I listen to this song of yours, and I think back about some of your postings just a few years back, and I'm simply amazed at how far you've come! This song is just great. Real, raw, and true. I love it. I'm ripping the audio off YouTube and putting it on my MP3 player... ----------
You're getting better all the time! I would also like to be able to understand the lyrics better--I like your voice--the harp fits well--the guitar sounds good, but it gets monotonous--maybe an occasional note with a slide?
I think definitely your best work--keep on truckin it man! ---------- Oldwailer's Web Site
thanks guys when I record live I have problems getting the vocals as clean as when ,I record them direct,Im trying to firgure that out a way to do that.
Im trying to learn more slide thats the main reason I got the resonator,I havent done much in regular tuning,I do alittle in open D But standard tuning I havent yet and im wanting to learn some
I just got a DVD today called Delta blues guitar.and a new slide a brass one havent used brass, and some steel fingers picks and reg thumb picks,
I didnt finger pick this song,But most time when I doing open D im trying to learn it with finger picks
I had a rattle in the resonator so I studied up on it and gave it a go at setting up,I wanted it to raise the strings just a bit, cause they were real low,If wasnt rattling I raised the bridge just a hair adjusted the neck and added bigger strings.
It doesnt rattle and plays slide better,But the chords are a bit harder to get but there not to bad either,I guess im going to be doing alot of slide woodshedding here this winter wish me luck;-)
Also got a capo never used one I remember Oldwailer telling me that they are great for different voicings so I finally decided to get one ---------- Hobostubs
