My son's band, a jazz/fusion quartet, is looking for a name. Any suggestions would be welcome, they have their first gig tomorrow night. Thanks

From the comedic perspective how about:

Rancid Buttermilk

Purely for laughs - sorry...

Good luck as the good names seem to all have been taken.

Hey, what's with the scurrility? Sure, when I saw it was jazz/fusion, I was tempted to be less than serious.
I mean, jazz/fusion musicians are mostly the nerdier kind of graduate, so they like erudite names like Spyrogyra or The Enid (Virgil's The Aeneid, geddit?), so I was going to suggest things like Gonococcus or Seborrhoea or Apocolocyntosis*, but then I thought, poor Leon, he's only posted 6 times, does he deserve such abuse?

What we don't know is anything about the kids, which would be crucial in picking a band name. From what I know, I'd call it The Jazz Fusion Quartet.

Thanks for all the input guys! They really liked, and decided on Preston's suggestion, "Along Played Four." Their gig went great, played from 7 p.m. till closing. Great crowd turn-out and participation, and they received an open invitation to come back. I'll post a clip later, thanks again.

And on that note, watch this space for the debut of my afro-oompah rocksteady deathmetal octet, Kill Your Congressmen. We mostly do covers.

We talked about naming our band "Free Beer and Chicken"

As in "tonight, Free Beer and Chicken!"

At least then we might get an audience.....

Thats great Greg!

I liked the site of worst album covers too, some funny & terrible ones. Hey I think I even own one already!

I wish my current day concern was what to name my band, hehe.

My brother was offered a recording contract based upon the name of his (fictitious) band alone:

Jesus Christ Supersex. He was going to call the first album "Here I come!"

i was helping a drummer friend install laminate flooring and i picked up a piece that had a bad groove in the side. i wrote "bad groove" on it in Sharpie and tossed it in the scrap pile. he picked it up and said that would be a great band name! I agree

I wanted to call my Memphis soul coversband the
"Ah! Soul Band"
Can't understand why others in the band would not go for it.

"The Mutz Nutz" is another good name for a band IMOP.
