The sympathetics shouldn't do anything audible. They should be gapped ok from the factory, and the "new" bends, at least in the top two octaves, should sound.

You could need to adjust them further into the slot if there is unwanted noise. If the bends aren't sounding at all, they might be too far into the slot.

I've played over a dozen of them OOTB, and all of them had the new bends. Some were a bit noisey, but for the most part, the issue was with regular Richter-style bends.

I've gotten to the point where I can set them up to play really well as Richter harps, but they take MORE work than a regular custom harp. For example, there are 30 slots to emboss vs 20.

I just worked on an Ultrabend yesterday, embossing to increase air tightness, so evidently this is considered warranty work.
Daron is going to Virgina (lucky guy), so if you call his number, you get me--800-854-1594, ext. 4411.
I working tomorrow and Friday, leave a message if I'm not there, and I will issue a Return Authorization number so you can take advantage of our free one year warranty.
I imagine Mike does a great job too, heck, I bet the X-harp is a great solution.
Not everyone who buys an Ultrabend has problems with them . . .
