I have a high Z SM57 Ultimate from Greg H. along with Harp Attack and Harp Delay pedals. I ordered a Soundcraft EFX8 mixer (not delivered yet) to plug a few guitars/vocals/harp into. My question is, can I plug straight into the mixer of would I need a DI box or ? If I need a DI can you recommend one?

Thanks in advance,
Bobbo

You're welcome! I have a small 2 channel mixer. Very handy. Lots of options without all the wire/cable mess. Easy to tweak things on the fly. You will be glad you got it.

I wouldn't put a hi-z mic into the xlr input without a DI first, but the 1/4" line input on each channel should be fine.

Agreed with MVLUN. I learned that one the hard way with my old Bluesblaster and trying to run it directly into a lo-Z XLR port on a mixer. No dice.

Thank you MrVerylongusername. I should have been clearer and made no assumptions. Bobbo, spend some time with the manual. There are a lot of things that you can do that you might not of thought of. There are some things you might want to do that you shouldn't!

The mic has a 1/4" plug. I know I have alot to learn I never used a mixer before. Been reading the user manual but havent got my hands on the mixer yet. Thanks.
