Happy little ragtimey number here that I've taken a liking to. The harp is fairly tasty, albeit sparse.

We did this over a year ago Hawkeye.

Awesome track. I love Paulo Nutini's voice and you're right, the harp playing is great.

Sorry, I wasn't yet a member last July. LOL

But I agree, Nutini's voice is odd, but cool. I used to perform his first big hit New Shoes at open jams all the time.

Have you ever caught the official music video for that?

I love Paulo. Great voice and songs. A true troubadour.

If you listen to the last song Alloway Drive on his first album These Streets and scan forward, he does an acoustic version of his song Last Request. What's really striking is that he sings with a Scottish accent.

If there was a site called Modern Blues (minus the harmonica), this would be in the top ten tracks. I dare any man not to identify....

Aye i'm sure this has come up before, but great track all the same. The harp player is a guy called Fraser Speirs from Glasgow. I know Fraser pretty well, bump intae him at a jam in Glasgow every noo and again,a real gentleman. And it's his birthday today strangely enough. There is quite a bit of moothie playing on Paulo's Sunny side up cd. His voice is just incredible.

Fraser has been around the music scene in Scotland for years and has play with dozens of people. Check oot his stuff with the legendary Tam White's shoe string band...great.

Here's the official music vid for Pencil. One of the cleverest music videos I've ever seen.
