This thought just hit me today. One of the most sophisticated pieces of audio technology today has to be the Bose Wave radio. I don't think anyone would argue that statement. The question resounds in our head. "How the hell do they cram so much room-fill into such a small device?"
They explain it...though it still baffles my little Irish brain.
But some of the newer models have an auxiliary input jack. I'm wondering if a tube preamp like a LW pedal through one of these little wonders of modern technology might be a good idea.
I'm kinda surprised honestly that Bose hasn't tried venturing into this niche yet. I bet you anything that with a little R&D on this, they'd have another corner on the market to add to their little collection.
Anyone have one? Ever tried blowing harp through it?

I'm not talking about one of their tower type of deals. I'm talking about a small, traditional, combo amp style unit based on the Wave radio. Something guitarists would look at and go "Hellooooo!!!" And to my knowledge, they've never used tubes. ----------

The wave radio's 3.5mm aux input jack claims to take a signal from a DVD/cassette player, as well as MP3/I-pod...so in theory, it should take up to 0.775VAC, an amp's line-out connected to a stereo 3.5mm plug, with the amp's signal wired to both L&R should work (as would making a line out Y cable terminating in L & R phono plugs with traditional hi-fi).
I play my little tube amp (with speaker load box) lined out through my living room set up, through my hi-fi speakers. Good for cleanish sounds & very low volume practice...still sounds best for overdriven sounds through a speaker cab, but louder (daytime use only). ---------- www.myspace.com/markburness
