Just paid £19.00 for Eb reed plates pheeew!!! (in UK)
Apparently Herr Hohner is putting his prices up on spares to deter customisers.
This may not apply to the American market (sick)

hi nick!
did you get them from Herr Hohner? i think it would be great to have vendors (like Rockin'Ron) in the US to sell us GM plates. i don't care if Hohner never improves the crappy GM comb. my latest GM re-build has a Hetrick ebony wood comb.
i can always build GMs out of parts but the average guy should be able to buy GM plates- like you can get SP/20 plates from Ron.

Hey MP
Yeah, but I just realised I could get a new harp for another £10, oh well..
I put one of Tom's acrylic combs in this afternoon in white, looks good, but slightly thinner comb.
i do like these Dorian combs don't you? I have a good colour selection in the case some from Tom and some from Hetrick..

hi nick! i'm sure it's a typo. :-0 i think you mean Corian, but i prefer Dymonwood and wood woods.
roganzab, good idea! it's possible he cleans his plates w/ barkeepers friend. i use it for donor reed plates. makes 'em all brand new ang shinny. ---------- MP affordable reed replacement and repairs.

Just a quick FYI since I was mentioned as a source on this thread. I do have some sets of reed plates available for Golden Melody. Generally speaking most of the reed plates I offer are "used". I put used in quotation marks because easily half of the harmonicas I purchase that are advertised as "used" are in fact new.
In the case of the Golden Melody plates I have in stock, nearly all of them are new. New as in I purchased them as new harps from a retailer. Like anything else, if you buy a quantity you get a better price. I don't plan to make a habit of buying new GM's to fill orders but a while back I got stuck and could not fill a couple of orders for custom harps so I stepped up and bought a bunch of new Golden Melodys just so I could meet my obligations. The end result is that I do have several sets of GM reed plates - almost all of which are brand new. Check my website for an up to date inventory. ---------- Tom Halchak www.BlueMoonHarmonicas.com
