I just recieved my Ultimate SM57 from Greg today... if you own one already you how I'm feeling right now. Thanks Greg. Super fast turn around too!
I've had this mic since 1980. It has survived two divorces, countless gigs from Victoria BC to Key West, San Francisco to Virginia Beach and all points in between! It's been at least 20 or 30 bands and has mic'd everything from snare drums to amps to doghouse basses to vocals. She has travelled thousands of miles and has been mistreated more than a few times. She's seen every kind of gig you could think of. She's been rained on, soaked with beer (and bourbon), knocked over, left out in the freezing cold, inprisoned in car trunks in the sweltering heat, travelled in cars, trucks, vans, trailers, buses backpacks, planes, buses, guitar cases, road cases, cardboard boxes and suitcases, and most recently in a mail truck.
She knows me well folks! I've been smacked in the lips, and front teeth by her, I've been electrically shocked a few times too! She's seen me drunk, stoned and sober. Best of all she never... never... ever failed to work! God knows if this thing could talk! OMG!!!

@jehosaphat
Wouldn't a new dress be more in the form of a bulletizer? ;-) ----------

I did the same thing last week. Sent off a 57 for Ultimatization and Bulletization by Greg. The mic is now considerably more versatile, overall.
The volume control gives you just that...more control.
The Bulletizer makes the normally skinny mic much more comfortable to hold, and on or off the mic stand(be sure to order the special clip from Greg)the Bulletizer captures the sound much more effectively.
I asked for the XLR connector, as I play through PAs much of the time. But a common adapter to 1/4" makes it amp friendly, as well.
The Ultimate 57 is lovely to look at, as well. Greg's craftsmanship is as pro as can be.
So, I feel I made a great investment. Sure, I like to buy harps and not gear so much, but everything I play has to be played through something, so now I am glad to have a really great mic, optimized for harp, to play through.
I'm also on Greg's list for a Blowsmeaway Kalamazoo amp, as I don't have a good little tube amp currently. I'm really looking forward to that!
